Assembly

This release is based on a whole genome shotgun sequence assembly with 8x coverage. The data were generated under the auspices of the Sorghum Genome Project, DoE Joint Genome Institute. Annotation

• Various plant nucleotide sequences have been mapped to the genome, the mapped features can be viewed in contigview
• Putative orthologs between Sorghum, japonica rice, indica rice, glaberrima, Arabidopsis Grape Poplar and maize gene models were generated using Ensembl's compara pipeline.
• Whole genome alignments between Sorghum and japonica rice were generated by Ensembl's blastz-chain-net pipeline
